Hey Bee Hey! Blogger Bee here bringing you another Taste Of Honey. Earlier in the week, I received some questions from our new ADHD Bees. They were looking into careers and wanted to know what skill sets they could use to find employment. Our new ADHD Bees were feeling kind of down because they didn’t just want a job but rather a taste of honey to help them navigate into a career where they could use the unique skills they possess. I went over to Momma Bee this week and asked her to give me a Taste of Honey for our ADHD Bees.
A TASTE OF HONEY
Instead of just sitting me down and giving me the taste of honey to take back to the new Bees, she told me to pack some nectar, we were heading over to Knotholes Blvd to see our ADHD Bees busy at work. As we buzzed overhead, I could see a party going on. It was being thrown by the hive, and at least three to five hundred bees were doing the round dance and the waddle dance too. Then Momma pulled out her jar of honey and started to speak.
You see in the hive, just like in the real world, our ADHD Bees are entrusted with one of the most important jobs a bee can have. The job of finding the hive a safe space to live. The stigma attached to the acronym ADHD is unheard of in the hive because these bees are called scouts, or as humans would say, Real Estate Agents. Humans depend on Real Estate Agents to find homes for families as well as spaces for corporations, storefronts for small business owners, and everything in between.
Chef
Crisis manager
Day trader
Emergency medical technician (EMT)
Event coordinator
Firefighter
Newsroom journalist
The scouts are doing the waddle dance again. This is the dance that the scout Bees do when they have found a suitable space for the hive. All the bees were buzzing in excitement and agreement, so the Queen Bee gave the word, and everyone would be packing up tomorrow.
Momma Bee had another Taste of honey she wanted me to share with the bees.
Remember, having ADHD gives you an advantage in the workplace. You have a unique ability to hyper-focus on a project and create solutions that are so creative that only a person with this special ability could do. For all my Real Estate Bees that have the ADHD ability, tell the humans you are a scout. As a matter of fact, no matter what career you choose, the next time someone asks if you have ADHD, just smile and tell them you are actually a scout Bee!
Well, it's time for Momma Bee and me to head back to our side of town. Remember, if you have any questions for Momma Bee, then post them in the group and hashtag #bloggerbee #mommabee
